今回ムンジアルに階級別と無差別級優勝すること、どのように感じますか？
How do you feel of being a double champion in the Worlds?
「階級別に勝った時、まだ信じなれないです。無差別級に優勝したら、興奮な気持ちもうコントロールできないになった（泣）。ムンジアルに優勝することは選手たちの夢ですが、俺がどれくらい立ち込んでいたことは神様と家族しかが理解できないです。」
"I couldn't believe it when I won my weight category, but when I get my victory on Absolute, I can't control my emotion anymore (tears of emotion). Every Athlete dream to be the Champion of Worlds, but only God, and the people around me like my family would understand how dedicated I am to prepare the Worlds."
ベルナルド・ファリア（アリアンシ）と何回も対戦ことあり、それで今回優勝することを助けると思わないですか？
You have been fought with Bernardo Faria quite a few times. Do you think it helps you know his game?
「そう思わないです。毎回の対戦も違う対戦と思う。階級別の時はパスガードできたて（結果は３－０）、無差別には９－０になりました。ベルナルドは素晴らしい選手と思います、だから彼が決勝選まで進出した。しかし、今日は俺の日だ、神様に感謝します。」
"I don't think so. Every fight is a fight. I fought him twice in Worlds, and in the weight category I could only manage to get a guard passed (result in 3-0). When it comes to absolute, I was able to get 9-0. Bernardo is a excellent athlete, and that's why he could able to be in the finals. However, It's my day today. Thanks God."

You won the Pan American, Abu Dhabi World Pro and now Worlds. Do you agree you are a great name in BJJ now?
「いえいえ、全然。俺にとして、ホジャー・グレイシーこぞが雷名と言う。残念ながら、彼は今年出場なかった、でも彼はまだNO.1です。もちろん俺も練習して、いつかNO.1になる。」
"No, absolutely not. In my view, Roger Gracie is the great name. It's a shame that he didn't compete this year, but he's still the one. And of couse I will train hard and become the number one too."
今年のムンジアルはホジャー・グレイシーや、"シャンジ"・ヒベイロやブラウリオ・エスティマも出なかった、これから新世代の出番と思うか？

「それは当然です。ムンジアルは新しいの星を生まれる。たくさんいい選手は次々に出る。レオナルド ノゲイラ、ベルナルド・ファリア、俺も。人は年になる、大会を置いてなるは仕方ない。」
"Surely it is the World of new stars, many good guys are coming, like Buchecha, Leonardo Nogueira, Bernardo, I ... New guys are coming up and crashing ahead. And this is normal, Guys are getting old, leaving aside the competitions. Other athletes are emerging."
あなたは何が一番アドバンテージを持つと思うですか？
What do you think is your major advantage?
「俺も分からない。俺はいつもスパーリング時ゆっくりにする、引き込みばっかりする。だけど、試合の時は、俺はトップほうか上手、下になるでも自信があります。 秘密なんかないと思います。 トレーニングだ、一生懸命練習して、自分を信じて。 大事のは一人で練習じゃなっくて、先生とメンバーと一緒に。このチームを一緒に練習すること、ものすごく嬉しく思います。
"I don't know. I don't train over head in the gym, instead I like to pull guard in the sparring. However, in the championship matches, I usually manage on top position and I feel comfortable in the bottom as well. There is no Secret. It's all about Training. Training hard and believe in yourself as well as your professor and your teammates. I'm glad to have the team like this.
あなたにとして、一番刺激的な大会は？パン選手権、アブダビ、それともムンジアル？
Can you tell which competition is the most exciting one? Pan American, Abu Dhabi Pro, or here the Worlds?
ムンジアルのは間違いない。何でと言うのは、俺はまだ優勝したことが信じならない。夢だった、こんなに早くできたはもう言葉に表すことができない。
"No doubt it is here in the World, because I still can not believe I am the champion. I always dreamed of this title and not expected it comes so fast. I am speechless, can not explain further.
